ISANG MAGANDANG KUWENTO…….

AMEN.

An Old Legends……

An old legend relates that long ago God had a great many burdens which He wished to have carried from one place to another on earth, so He asked the animals to lend a hand.  But all of them began to make excuses for not helping: the elephant was too dignified; the lion, too proud; and so on.  Finally the birds came to God and said, “If you will tie the burdens into small bundles, we’ll be glad to carry them for you.  We are small but we would like to help.”

So God fastened upon the back of each one a small bundle, and they all set out walking across the plain to their destination.  They sang as they went, and did not seem to feel the weight of their burdens at all.  Every day the burdens seemed lighter and lighter, until the loads seems to be lifting the birds, instead of the birds carrying the burdens.  When they arrived at their destination, they discovered that when they removed their loads, there were wings in their place, wings which enabled them to fly to the sky and the tree tops.  They had learned how to carry their burdens, and their loads had become wings to carry them nearer to God.

Burdens we carry for others may become wings of the spirit, to lift us into happiness such as we have never known.

When I was a small child, my mother used to embroider a great deal. I would sit at her knee and look up from the floor and ask what she was doing. She informed me that she was embroidering. I told her that it looked like a mess from where I was. As from the underside I watched her work within the boundaries of the little round hoop that she held in her hand, I complained to her that it sure looked messy from where I sat.

She would smile at me, look down and gently say, “My child, you go about your playing for a while, and when I am finished with my embroidering, I will put you on my knee and let you see it from my side.”
I would wonder why she was using some dark threads along with the bright ones and why they seemed so jumbled from my view. A few minutes would pass and then I would hear Mother’s voice say, “Child, come and sit on my knee.” This I did only to be surprised and thrilled to see a beautiful flower or a sunset. I could not believe it, because from underneath it looked so messy. Then Mother would say to me, “My child, from underneath it did look messy and jumbled, but you did not realize that there was a pre-drawn plan on the top. It was a design. I was only following it. Now look at it from my side and you will see what I was doing.”
Many times through the years I have looked up to my Heavenly Father and said, “Father, what are You doing?” He has answered, “I am embroidering your life. ” I say, “But it looks like a mess to me. It seems so jumbled. The threads seem so dark. Why can’t they all be bright?”
The Father seems to tell me, “‘My child, you go about your business of doing My business, and one day I will bring you to Heaven and put you on My knee and you will see the plan from My side.”

WHEN YOU WORRY

When you worry about money, you’re telling Him that He is unable to provide for His children. That although He has riches beyond belief in Heaven, He is too stingy to share them with you.
When you worry that no one understands you, you’re telling Him that although He has been with you since before you were formed in the womb and has carved you into the palm of His hand, He doesn’t know you.
When you worry that you will not have enough food, you’re telling Him that although He rained down bread from Heaven in the desert to feed His children, you are the one He’s forgotten.
When you worry that your enemies will have victory over you, you’re telling God that, although He has given you spiritual battle gear to defend yourself, that despite His track record of being a giant slayer, Red Sea divider, lion mouth closer and a furnace cooler, He can’t handle your co-worker, your neighbor, or a former friend.
When you worry that you won’t be able to do enough to earn forgiveness, you’re telling Him that’s okay Lord, no need for Your Son to die, I can earn my own forgiveness. Let’s just act like Jesus never died, tell Him never mind He doesn’t need to go to the cross.
When you worry that no one will love you, that you’ll be lonely for the rest of your life, you’re telling Him that His love is insufficient. That He couldn’t possibly love you enough to ward away loneliness. You’re saying that although He has promised life more abundantly, He was lying. That despite the fact that He started off saying that it is not good that we be alone, He’s changed His mind.
When you worry and refuse to give the problem over to Him, you’re telling Him that, although He could create the world, He can’t handle what’s going on in your world, so you will. You are saying that He won’t work things out, that obstacles cannot be overcome, that mountains can’t be climbed, that healing cannot occur, that what is lost will not be found, that joy does not come in the morning, that He is not the God of a second chance, that the Promised Land has been swallowed up by the desert, that you have discovered the height, depth and width of His love and found it to fall short of your needs.

Think about all what you’re saying to the one who loves you the most and who has all power, really think about it. Then open your hands and release what you’ve been holding onto. Bow down on your knees and ask Him to forgive you for doubting Him. Walk away with a peaceful heart and note the footsteps that go before you to make the crooked places straight, a way in the wilderness and water spring forth in the desert.
“Do not fear, for I am with you; do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10

A small congregation in the foothills of the Great Smokies built a new sanctuary on a piece of land willed to them by a church member. Ten days before the new church was to open, the local building inspector informed the pastor that the parking lot was inadequate for the size of the building. Until the church doubled the size of the parking lot, they would not be able to use the new sanctuary.
Unfortunately, the church with its undersized lot had used every inch of their land except for the mountain against which it had been built. In order to build more parking spaces, they would have to move the mountain out of the back yard. Undaunted, the pastor announced the next Sunday morning that he would meet that evening with all members who had “mountain moving faith.” They would hold a prayer session asking God to remove the mountain from the back yard and to somehow provide enough money to have it paved and painted before the scheduled opening dedication service the following week. At the appointed time, 24 of the congregation’s 300 members assembled for prayer. They prayed for nearly three hours. At ten o’clock the pastor said the final “Amen.” “We’ll open next Sunday as scheduled,” he assured everyone. “God has never let us down before, and I believe He will be faithful this time too.”
The next morning as he was working in his study there came a loud knock at his door. When he called “come in,” a rough looking construction foreman appeared, removing his hard hat as he entered. “Excuse me, Reverend. I’m from Acme Construction Company over in the next county. We’re building a huge new shopping mall over there and we need some fill dirt. Would you be willing to sell us a chunk of that mountain behind the church? We’ll pay you for the dirt we remove and pave all the exposed area free of charge, if we can have it right away. We can’t do anything else until we get the dirt in and allow it to settle properly.”
The little church was dedicated the next Sunday as originally planned and there were far more members with “mountain moving faith” on opening Sunday than there had been the previous week!
Would you have shown up for that prayer meeting? Some people say faith comes from miracles. But others know: MIRACLES COME FROM FAITH

MY ANGEL

A baby asked God, “They tell me you are sending me to earth tomorrow, but how am I going to live there being so small and helpless?”

“Your Angel will be waiting for you and will take care of you.”

The child further inquired, “But tell me, here in heaven I don’t have to do anything but sing and smile to be happy.”

God said “Your Angel will sing for you and also smile for you.
And you will feel your Angel’s love and be very happy.”

Again the child asked, “And how am I going to be able to understand when people talk to me if I don’t know the language?”

God said, “Your Angel will tell you the most beautiful and sweet words you will ever hear, and with much patience and care, your Angel will teach you how to speak.”

And what am I going to do when I want to talk to you?”
God said, “Your angel will place your hands together and will teach you to pray.”

“Who will protect me?”0

God said, “Your Angel will defend you even if it means risking its life.”

“But I will always be sad because I will not see you anymore.”

God said’ “Your Angel will always talk to you about me and will teach you the way to come back to Me, even though I will always be next to you.”

At that moment there was much peace in Heaven, but voices from earth could be heard and the child hurriedly asked,

“God, if I leave now, please tell me my Angel’s name.”
“You will simply call her, ” Mommy”.

Lift a Mother’s spirit, give her a tight hug and warmest kiss
